Don't they work for us???

Trusted pollster Scott Rasmussen:

“I think the other thing that is hurting Democrats on the health care issue right now is sort of the sense of they were going to push it through regardless of the fact that it was unpopular, and I don’t think that’s the kind of responsiveness that people are looking for.”

“Right now you’d have to say the likelihood is the Democrats will lose 5 to 8 seats in the Senate, which means the Republicans would not gain control. That’s probably good news for the GOP because I don’t think they want to be in charge heading into 2012. Also expect that the Republicans will pick up maybe 25 or 30 seats in the House.”

I think it's obvious (to people outside the beltway) that the reason two-thirds of the country is enraged about this health insurance takeover is because it's clear that the people don't want it, but that liberal politicians have their own agenda. Their attitude comes through loud and clear, "This has nothing to do with you; mind your business. We have this important stuff that we want, and that's all you need to know."

Our job is to shut up and pay the 18 new kinds of taxes, pay the skyrocketing cost (does the cost of any government program not skyrocket? In this case, there's good reason, it's called economics.), and wade through the 112 new bureaucracies -- that's right, 112. If the law to create this mess is 2,000 pages, how many pages of new laws will the 112 new agencies create? The GAO estimates we will have to carry another 400,000 bureaucrats on our backs just to administrate this boondoggle. It would be cool if they could at least find a country where this worked out ok first. (I have some devastating replies if someone wants to challenge me on that.)

Isn't it weird how the health plan includes gun control, restaurant menu control, death panels (look it up, they're in there), vending machine controls, direct access by the government to your bank account, etc., but nothing to reduce costs. Nothing actually in this plan. So, there's nothing new to control or cut costs; they do intend to slash the out of control spending of the last two disastrous healthcare takeovers, Medicare and Medicaid. We owe what, about $180,000 per person for those two programs?
